The regional business hub of Bairnsdale is a short 10 minute drive to the west. Bairnsdale has excellent shopping and is well serviced with a major hospital, sporting facilities and community groups. An excellent passenger train service connects to Melbourne, with numerous departures seven days a week.
Within easy walking distance of Peppercorn Rise is the popular Rail Trail where you can stroll with the family or bike to nearby or distant locations... Of course, the Gippsland Lakes is the major attraction in East Gippsland. The extensive lakes system provides a boater’s wonderland of fishing, cruising and water skiing enjoyment. There is an excellent all weather launching ramp (with large car park) on the Nicholson River at Nicholson, barely a five-minute drive from your Peppercorn Rise home. A short run downstream and you enter Lake King – head port to Metung, then Lakes Entrance beyond or turn to starboard to reach Paynesville, Loch Sport and ultimately Sale.
Nicholson has a general store, hotel and primary school. A rural lifestyle doesn’t come any better than at Peppercorn Rise. You’ll definitely be the envy of your friends.
